Legislative advocacy is at the heart of what OCAPA does and how it serves its members. OCAPA works with lawmakers and regulatory agencies at the local, state, and federal levels representing the industry’s interests and proactively working toward smart, balanced policies.

The OCAPA Legislative Committee meets every other week during the Oregon legislative session, identifying proposals that support the industry while working to defeat legislation that is harmful to the industry. The committee provides guidance to OCAPA staff regarding positions on particular issues. OCAPA also encourages members to develop relationships with local leaders — with your help, legislators and policymakers can better understand the industry’s needs.
