DESCRIPTION:ACI Certification Class – April 5-6\, 2024 – Pendleton\, OR\nFor all personnel involved in testing fresh concrete. ASTM C94 and ACI 301 require technicians to have demonstrated an ability equivalent to ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician-Grade I certification. \nA half-day review\, with exams\, administered the following day\, is sponsored by OCAPA in cooperation with the American Concrete Institute (ACI). It is conducted by a Professional Engineer and graded by ACI. \nThose successfully completing both the ACI written and performance examinations will receive a wallet card from ACI certifying them as an ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I. Certification is valid for 5 years. \nREQUIRED PRIOR KNOWLEDGE: \n\nFamiliarity with basic algebra.\nA working knowledge of the following ASTM Standards:\n\nC 172 – Sampling Freshly Mixed Concrete\nC 1064 -Temperature of Freshly Mixed Portland Cement Concrete\nC 143 – Slump of Hydraulic Cement Concrete\nC 138 -Unit Weight\, Yield\, and Air Content of Concrete\nC 231 – Air Content of Freshly Mixed Concrete by thePressure Method\nC 173 – Air Content of Freshly Mixed Concrete by the VolumetricMethod\nC 31 – Making and Curing Concrete Test Specimens in the Field\n\n\nYou must be familiar with your equipment and ready to proceed through the above seven testing procedures without coaching or comment from the examiner or others.\nStudents must provide their own equipment or arrange to share equipment.\nNo more than two students per equipment set.\n\nNOTICE TO STUDENTS RECERTIFYING OR CHALLENGING: \n\nYou must provide your previous ACI# on the registration form.\nIf you are recertifying\, ACI requires successful completion of both the performance and written examinations.\nIndividuals that are recertifying are not required to attend the review\nACI exams (written or performance) are not administered outside of scheduled class dates.\n\nCANCELLATION POLICY: All Cancellations\, Reschedules and Substitutions are subject to a $50 processing fee. Cancellations must be made at least 14 days before the start of the class to receive a refund. Material fees are non-refundable. \nRESCHEDULING: Rescheduling to another class must be made at least 14 days before the start of the class. \nSUBSTITUTIONS: Substitutions are only allowed between students within the same firm at least 14 days before the start of the class. \nNO SHOWS: “No-shows” will not be rescheduled or refunded. Classes are subject to cancellation based on the number of registrants. Registrants will be notified no later than 7 days prior to the start of the class of any cancellations. Prices are subject to change without notice. No credits will be carried over past June 30th of current year. Photo ID will be required for all exams.

DESCRIPTION:ODOT QCT Certification Class – ODOT QCT Registration – April 4-5\, 2024 – Pendleton\, OR\nDETAILS \n\nThe exam is a 90-minute open book exam with a passing grade of 80%.\nThose successfully completing the ODOT examination and the ACI written and performance exams will be certified for work on ODOT projects.\nThis certification expires on the same date as ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1.\n\nThis is a special segment designed by ODOT as a supplemental to the ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1\, for certification to work on state projects. \nA QCT performs testing of fresh Portland cement concrete including: \n\nSampling\nConcrete Temperature\nSlump\nUnit Weight\nAir Content\nFabrication of specimens for strength testing\n\nPerforms other duties required by specifications: \n\nCalculating cement content and water-cement ratio.\n\nA half-day review\, with the exam given the next morning\, is sponsored by OCAPA in cooperation with Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT).
