SUMMARY:ODOT QCT Class
DESCRIPTION:A QCT performs testing of fresh Portland cement concrete including sampling\, concrete temperature\, slump\, unit weight\, air content\, and fabrication of specimens for strength testing and performs other duties including calculating cement content and water-cement ratio as required by specifications. This is a special segment designed by ODOT as a supplemental to the ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1\, for certification to work on state projects. \nA half day review\, with the exam given the next morning\, is sponsored by OCAPA in cooperation with Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). Individuals will need to be familiar with water-cement ratio worksheets and be able to navigate the following ODOT manuals : \n·          Manual of Field Testing Procedures \n·          Oregon Standard Specifications for Construction – 2021 (Black Book). \nThe 2021 Oregon Specifications must be purchased through an outside vendor. The purchaser must create a login/password account to process the order.\nThe direct link for the Spec Books is https://5207–62.myuplinxstore.com/franchise/index.htm and is also located on our Specifications webpage at http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/HWY/SPECS/pages/index.aspx. \nThe Manual of Field Testing Procedures is not available through OCAPA but can be purchased through the ODOT website: \nhttp://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/HWY/CONSTRUCTION/pages/mftp_manual.aspx \nA current copy of ASTM C-94 Specifications (found in the ACI manual) is needed for the exam. DESCRIPTION:OCAPA and the Certification Board of Directors ensures the proper execution of the Concrete Control Technician certification in compliance with its separate agreement with ODOT. ODOT and the Certification Advisory Board have partnered  in writing and grading the exam. Working with OCAPA\, they overview the program and make changes that are needed.  At the request of members\, the Technology Committee has helped review the CCT class structure. \nThis program consists of 24 hours of instruction and a four-hour written examination. The CCT certification is valid for three (3) years upon completion of the program for the first time\, and passage of the written exam. DESCRIPTION:OCAPA and the Certification Board of Directors ensures the proper execution of the Concrete Control Technician certification in compliance with its separate agreement with ODOT. ODOT and the Certification Advisory Board have partnered  in writing and grading the exam. Working with OCAPA\, they overview the program and make changes that are needed.  At the request of members\, the Technology Committee has helped review the CCT class structure. \nThis program consists of 24 hours of instruction and a four-hour written examination. The CCT certification is valid for three (3) years upon completion of the program for the first time\, and passage of the written exam.
